Christmas 2011

I've heard it said that dogs sometimes look like their owners.  Ha ha!

My totally unexpected gift.  Thanks love, but I'm starting to think you don't want my attention anymore. Haha.
Cherakie prepared a snack for santa as soon as we returned from D's.

For worthy friends whose lives proclaim
Devotion to the Savior's name,
Who bless our days with peace and love,
We praise thy goodness, Lord above.

I've much to sing praise, for truly I am blessed.

Chaos best describes our morning, I've taken a couple blows the last couple days but kept my head above water. I'm growing in my ability to stop long enough to feel the spirit, and tell myself I can do this.

Like this morning I asked Chantel to give herself enough time to sort her laundry which accounts for 2/3 the mountain of clothing. Not only did my fantabulous looking daughter walk out the door passed the laundry but she texted me moments later telling me she was out of lunch money. Breathe. I asked her what she was going to do about it. She found a solution. Hopefully her friends will show her mercy. Normally I would've driven a check up to the school grumbling about how it added to my insane busy day.

Ck hates Tuesdays, it's typing day. She hid in my blankets then went back to bed. Dad won on this one. Not long after, she followed him up stairs.

I asked, "what did you do? Threaten with ice cubes or bribe her with treats? He told me he just talked to her. Ofcourse she missed the bus but as we ate breakfast I asked her what dad had said.

"He said that sometimes he doesn't want to go to work, but there are people counting on him. He told me someone might be counting on me."

Someone might be counting on me. Reason enough to go about in this crazy thing we call life. Thank you love for being so gentle!

Christmas Lights

Roy froze at the potato bowl, we chose to freeze seeing the lights.  I'm not quite sure what the girls thought of the city and the insane crowds but it was lovely.  First we met Nana D at KFC.  They choose this on special occasions.  Mandi and her boys also joined us.

I was too into my pot pie and conversation that I had not realized Raquel had filled up 3 times over on Mtn Dew.  She bounced across temple square.  No wonder she was so warm.  We spoke for a moment about President Monson.  Raquel said, "Wow, he's famous.  They should give him free food."  Funny Funny Kel.  By the time we stopped for hot chocolate, Raquel was shaking terribly.
She's permantly been banned from caffeine.  I'd do well to honor the ban as well.
Lovely evening, grateful to spend the time with Nana D, Mandi, and the kiddos.  And pretty lucky to return with all of them.

Christmas Ice Show

Chantel skated to Silent Night by Aly and Aj.  She did fantabulous.  Love Sue's choreography.  We ordered her dress from Tina's Skatewear, one of our previous dresses we ordered there.  Her dresses are amazing, and the crystals hand stitched, and prices amazing.  Chantel found this one after I had lost hope and it came within a couple days.  It was premade and in clearance, in exactly Chantel's size.  Ya we're blessed.  I love her customer service.  We even had a week to spare - did wonders for my nerves :)
Jalane - you will appreciate that not five seconds into the hockey stinking (SICKO) locker room we filled it with glitter and aerosol hairspray.  Much better!!!

Chantel's YW friends who came to watch her.
Chantel's Sk8ta friends, she misses being in the club.
Too much and too cold for miss Raquel.  Her attention span lasts longer when she's in the show.

CrAZy !!?!?!??

Well if you're going to go crazy, might as well take companions! Happy Friday!!!

Have you ever seen a child, perfectly fine - And then the moment they see their parents who have come to retrieve them, the child melts into weeping sobs?!?! If you've ever served in nursery you've seen it.

That was me. Roy and I had called the girls to dinner, but with no response we prayed without them. He and I alone, across the long table. I offered the routine, "Humpherys Blessing," but before I could finish, I sobbed. I could feel Him, He was listening to my simple routine rushed offering, and yet, He came for me.

I have a few things on my notso favorite list, but not many. Usually if something is there I work to convert it to my fav list, and I celebrate it. For example, someday I am going to love to cook. I'm determined to love it. (but not yet k)

Every once in awhile I find something on my notso fav list that's not so easy. My friend reminded me of a childhood favorite, the movie Rigoletto. Specifically the scene with Porter and Rigoletto. Porter says he hates his father. Rigoletto says,"I think that you love your father and you hate the way you feel. Change the way you feel!"

I hate the way I feel.

Polar Express Party

Traditons bring to recognition how quickly time passes. Before long these monkeys will be gone. This year we threw a new twist into the mix and invited the kids to perform their holiday numbers.
Landon wanted a turn.  We asked him the name of his piece, and he quickly replied, "the ticket."  Funny Boy!

Cheese Toast

Our after church tradition is cheese toast. Usually Roy makes them. His toes were cold so he retired to bed.

Oops, sorry girls - too much cheese!

My Ballerinas

Miss Raquel and Miss Olivia participated in their first ballet performance at the Cache Valley School of Ballet.
I had the opportunity for an hour and a half Thursday to watch them practice. I LOVE watching ballet, especially when I have the opportunity to observe my girls growing in their skills.

I love that they're in the same class.
